Design Sprint and Design Workshops-4mation

To assist our clients to innovate products & services, delight customers and meet their business needs, we are proud to offer a number of design sprint and design workshops facilitated by our multidisciplinary Design Lab.

Consisting of expert researchers, user experience, user interface and digital designers, our team engage cutting edge design sprint and problem-solving methodologies. We use design thinking exercises to help define your user needs, identify opportunities and align them with your business and stakeholder goals.

The design workshops we offer are outlined below.

All workshops are flexible and we’d be happy to adapt to your exact needs and availability. We can host in our Sydney office or in your preferred location.

Ignition Workshop – One day

The ignition workshop is recommended in order to make sure you have the right information to design and build a product.

The time required is half a day during which we should collect the following information:

  • goals
  • target / market
  • problem to be solved
  • type of product
  • preferred design style
  • existing design guidelines and assets

The workshop starts with an alignment questionnaire, then some design thinking activities. We will identify business goals, users’ challenges and main opportunities. We will also draw a high-level user journey map in order to locate where value can be added as fast as possible.

This workshop is ideal if:
  • you want to build a new feature or product
  • you want to make sure everybody is aligned and understand goals and challenges
  • you have limited time
Outcomes:
  • workshop summary including defined goals, challenges and opportunities, user journey map with focal point.

Participants are only needed half a day.

Design Jam – Two days

The Design Jam includes the Ignition Workshop in the morning then ideation activities in the afternoon. Originally extracted from the Design Sprint created by Google, these activities allow every team member to participate and share their ideas.

It is a very good way to create a large database of ideas that can be executed later. It also helps with team collaboration and makes the decision process much faster.

This workshop is ideal if:
  • you want to build a new feature or product
  • you want to make sure everybody is aligned and understand goals and challenges
  • you want to get involved in the creative process
  • you want to ideate as a team and involve stakeholders
  • you want a clickable prototype previous to building a solution, in order to test it and make sure you are about to build the right solution
Outcomes:
  • workshop summary including defined goals, challenges and opportunities, user journey map with focal point
  • selected concept ready for prototyping
  • 2/3 days later: interactive and clickable prototype

Participants are only needed one day.

Design Sprint

The Design Sprint is a unique four day process for validating ideas and solving big challenges through prototyping and testing ideas with customers. This is the most efficient way to get answers to challenges and test them within a week.

Working together in a sprint, you can shortcut the endless debate cycle and compress months of time into a single week. Instead of waiting to launch a minimum viable product to understand if an idea is any good, you’ll get clear data from a realistic prototype. The sprint gives you a superpower: You can fast-forward into the future to see your finished product and customer reactions, before making any expensive commitments.

This workshop is ideal if:
  • you want to save time and money
  • you want to validate an idea before you build it
  • you want to make sure everybody is aligned and understand goals and challenges
  • you want the whole team to have a voice and make decisions together
Outcomes:
  • workshop summary including defined goals, challenges and opportunities, user journey map
  • all sketches, ideas and concepts produced during workshop
  • interactive and clickable prototype
  • user testing session data and insights
  • recommendations for next design steps or prototype / concept improvement

Participants are only needed for two days.
